NEW MILLPORT – A spaghetti dinner will be held Saturday to benefit Mark Desmett.
The dinner will take place from4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Oak Ridge Union Church. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children who are 10 years and younger.
The dinner will also include a Chinese auction and a bake sale.
Desmett is a 42-year-old, self-employed truck driver without any health insurance. He suffered a heart attack on Christmas Day. Desmett was transported to Pittsburgh on Dec. 26 to have a massive blood clot removed from behind his knee.
As hospital personnel started the surgery, Desmett suffered a massive heart attack. He isn’t any longer able to work and has been transported to an area nursing home for rehabilitation.
Proceeds from the benefit dinner will help defray Desmett’s medical costs.
