HYDE — After a 5-0 day to raise their overall record on the season to 19-1, the West Branch Warriors won the 6th Annual Clearfield Bison Duals with a 37-22 victory over the defending champion General McLane Lancers.
To advance to the finals, West Branch and General McLane each went undefeated in pool matches.
The host Bison (7-3) went 3-2 on the day, but came up short in the third place match 51-21 to Montoursville to finish in fourth place. Clearfield defeated Valley 45-30, and then Port Allegany and Southern Huntingdon by identical 57-18 scores, but lost to West Branch 58-18 to finish 3-1 in pool matches.
Clearfield will reurn to dual meet action when they host Bellefonte Tuesday night.
An undermanned Curwensville Golden Tide (0-9) squad went 0-4 to finish in ninth place in the nine-team tourney. They lost to General McLane 73-3, to Montoursville 72-6, Southern Huntingdon 48-27, and Port Allegany 42-30.
Curwensville will travel Thursday night to state-ranked Brookville.
