CLEARFIELD – After a public hearing Thursday night, Clearfield Borough Council approved resolutions to pursue two grants through the state Department of Community and Economic Development.
Borough Operations Manager Leslie Stott presented the resolutions at the hearing. One grant application will be for $453,887 to be used to complete the North Third Street streetscape project. Stott explained the project will encompass the segment of North Third to Bridge streets with improvements to include trees, sidewalks, streetlights, meter poles and more.
The second grant application of $30,000 will be used by the Clearfield Revitalization Corp. for downtown façade renovations.
The public hearing also included a grant application already approved at December’s council meeting for the CRC to provide funding in the form of a loan to help the Ritz Theater upgrade to digital projectors.
