State police at Clearfield
- A hit-and-run accident occurred Thursday on the Quehanna Highway just past the Quehanna Boot Camp in Kartahus Township. Further, a 2008 Ford F-250 was traveling south and attempted to pass an unknown vehicle. Its operator swerved into the passenger’s side of the truck, causing damage to its rear quarter panel. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of simple assault occurred Wednesday on Walker Street in Rush Township. During the incident, a 27-year-old Osceola Mills man engaged in a physical altercation with the victim. Charges were filed through the district court.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a single-vehicle accident on the Old Erie Pike.
- Police received a report about a traffic violation on the Clearfield – Curwensville Highway.
- Police responded to a hit-and-run accident at Pizza Hut.
- Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on state Route 879. Further, a Clearfield female lost control of her vehicle on the snow-covered roadway and struck a PennDOT truck. The female’s vehicle was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
DuBois City
- On Wednesday, a DuBois Middle School officer contacted police about two female students who had engaged in a fight on the school bus. The fight had occurred on Monday at which point one student broke the other’s glasses and threw them out the window. The school police officer was advised to file a private complaint against the student.
- A suspicious male was reportedly following a female Wednesday in the area of North Church Street and East Park Avenue. Upon making contact with them, police determined everything was OK.
- On Thursday, police were dispatched to contact a DuBois school police officer about a male who had carried a holstered gun when he walked his child to the bus stop. The SPO had received a call from a concerned parent who wanted to advise police of the matter. City police investigated and found the male hadn’t violated any laws.
- An incident of theft occurred Thursday at a Chestnut Street residence. The victim told police that she had multiple items stolen from her residence. She also told police that she believed her son had stolen the items. Police contacted the victim’s son who denied stealing the items. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
