State police at Clearfield

• An incident of forgery occurred Dec. 27 at Kwik Fill in Cooper Township. During the incident, someone passed a counterfeit $20 bill.
• An incident of DUI occurred Saturday on state Route 879 in Lawrence Township. During the incident, a 22-year-old Grampian man was stopped for a traffic violation and found under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently arrested for DUI and transported for blood testing. The case, state police said, is pending blood test results.
• No injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident that occurred Thursday on the Curwensville – Tyrone Highway in Knox Township. Corrine Cartwright of Olanta was traveling south while a vehicle operated by Travis Brown, also of Olanta, was traveling north. When passing through a curve, the Cartwright vehicle crossed the centerline and struck Brown’s vehicle. Cartwright was cited for the accident.
• No charges were filed after an incident of harassment that occurred Thursday on Julia Street in Irvona Borough. Further, two Irvona teens engaged in a physical altercation after getting off the school bus.
• No injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident Thursday in the Peebles parking lot in Decatur Township. Janell Hosterman of Philipsburg entered the parking lot, where she subsequently lost control of her vehicle and struck a steel post. Hosterman was cited for the accident.
• No injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident that occurred Friday on Main Street in Bigler Township. Nancy Guiher was traveling south when a deer entered the roadway. She subsequently struck the deer.
• An incident of criminal mischief occurred Dec. 28 on the Morrisdale-Allport Cutoff in Morris Township. During the incident, someone used a knife and slashed a tire on the victim’s 2006 Volkswagen Jetta. Damage is estimated at $200.
• Charges are pending after a simple assault incident that occurred Saturday on Pinewood Drive in Graham Township. During the incident, two Morrisdale males became involved in an argument over a pellet gun. When the argument became heated, one man put the other in a headlock and punched him in the head several times. The second man then threatened to shoot him with a 20-guage shotgun.
• An incident of theft occurred Saturday in the Dollar General parking lot in Irvona Borough. The victim left her purse in a shopping cart and left. Then, someone took the victim’s purse and fled the lot. The purse, state police said, was later found in the parking lot at Leyos in Coalport; cash and gift cards were missing from it.
• An accident occurred Sunday on SR 3007 near Condon Road in Knox Township. Greg Selner of Curwensville was traveling south when he lost control of his vehicle. It traveled onto the east berm and struck a cross pipe. Selner was transported to the Clearfield Hospital for treatment of injuries; he was cited for careless driving. State police were assisted at the scene by the Madera Fire Company.
• Minor injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident Sunday on Elizabeth Street in Houtzdale Borough. Further, a Ramey girl was traveling north and turned into the path of a vehicle driven by Thomas Belella of Houtzdale. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. Belella had a passenger who sustained minor injuries.
• An incident of burglary occurred Saturday in the 300 block of Thompson Street in Curwensville Borough. During the incident, someone forced entry into the victim’s residence and removed items. No one was home at the time of the incident, and anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
• An incident of theft occurred sometime between Dec. 20 and Dec. 27 in the 300 block of Thompson Street in Curwensville Borough. During the incident, a 44-year-old Curwensville man allegedly removed numerous packages and pieces of mail from the victim’s mailbox. The stolen items, state police said, included several eBay packages and gift cards, which the man allegedly used for personal purchases. Charges are to be filed through the district court.
• An incident of harassment occurred Wednesday in the woods near Clark Road in Knox Township. During the incident, the victim was at New Year’s Eve party, at which time he was allegedly punched in the side of the face. The victim, state police said, didn’t know the suspect. The incident remains under investigation at this time, and anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.

State police at DuBois

• No injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday on Shamokin Trail in Brady Township. Carol Hahn of Philipsburg was traveling west when she lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a left-hand curve. Her vehicle exited the roadway on the north side, traveled approximately 120 feet and struck a culvert. After impact her vehicle bounced off the culvert and struck a tree with its rear end. After the second impact, the Hahn vehicle came to a rest in the culvert. Hahn was cited for the accident.
• An incident of theft occurred sometime between June 1 and Nov. 30 along Holt Road in Snyder Township. Further, a Miramar, Fla. woman reported that several tools were removed from a residence. Through investigation state police determined the tools hadn’t been stolen.
• An incident of theft by unlawful taking occurred sometime between June 7, 2013 and Thursday at the Penfield Elementary School in Huston Township. During the incident, someone removed two picnic tables from under the pavilion behind the school. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at DuBois at 814-371-4652.

State police at Philipsburg

• The investigation is continuing into an incident of simple assault that occurred Friday at a Jesse Street residence in Rush Township. During the incident, two men engaged in a physical altercation. One man allegedly struck another with a baseball bat, causing injuries.
• An incident of theft occurred sometime between Dec. 28 and Dec. 29 on the Sandy Ridge Trail in Rush Township. During the incident, someone took four cage traps that belonged to the victim.

State police at Ridgway

• The investigation is continuing into an incident of corruption of minors that occurred Wednesday at a Jones Township residence. During the incident, a known 32-year-old Ridgway woman allegedly provided marijuana to a 13-year-old Ridgway boy.

Lawrence Township

• Police received a report about a telephone scam. During the incident, the caller stated the resident had won $5 million. Additionally, the caller wanted the resident to send them some of the money back.
• Police received a report about an abandoned vehicle on Overlook Drive. Further, police will attempt to contact the owner.
• Police checked the welfare of a male who had threatened to harm himself.
• Police received a traffic complaint on South Second Street. The vehicle, however, was gone upon police arrival.
• Police assisted a Pennsylvania State Constable with serving a warrant at a Hyde residence.
• Police assisted another agency with serving a warrant at Lawrence Park Village.
• Police responded to a domestic dispute at the Lawrence Park Village. Afterward, police took one male into custody; the male was placed in the Clearfield County Jail.
• Police responded to a single-vehicle accident on Washington Avenue. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident. The vehicle, police said, was towed from the scene.
• Decatur Township police were assisted with attempting to serve a warrant on a Clearfield female.
• Police checked the welfare of a male pedestrian at the intersection of River Road and SR 879. Upon arrival police found the male was walking to the truck stop.
• Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle in Hillsdale.
• Police received a report about a domestic dispute on Mount Joy Road.
• Police received a report about shots being fired in the Hyde area. However, police couldn’t locate anyone in the area.
• Police responded to a psychological emergency at an area nursing home. One male was transported to the Clearfield Hospital.
• Police received a report about child custody issues and referred the individual to the appropriate agencies.
• Police received a report about a traffic hazard on the Clearfield – Curwensville Highway.
• Police received a report about a deer that was struck on the roadway and causing a hazard. Police removed the deer from the roadway.
• Police received a report about an incident of harassment at the Sapp Bros. Truck Stop.

Curwensville Borough

• Police received a report about a male who was attempting to enter a shed in the area of Grandview Avenue on Thursday afternoon. The male, however, drove off in a white Kia.

DuBois City

• On Friday, police received a report about a customer who had passed checks with insufficient funds at Carlson’s Auto Repair. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• On Saturday, police received a report about suspicious persons in the 500 block of First Street. During the incident, two males were going door-to-door and asking about utilities. Police have asked residents to contact police when unpermitted solicitors arrive at their homes.
• On Saturday, police received a report about a fight in progress at the Sheetz store on East DuBois Avenue. During the incident, several adults were allegedly fighting in the parking lot. Upon police arrival, the adults had separated, and no one wanted to pursue charges.
• Police received a report about a hit-and-run collision that occurred Saturday on East DuBois Avenue. The victim told police that the operator of the suspect vehicle had vaulted the curb, entered the roadway and struck their vehicle. A vehicle, which matched the description, was located at Taco Bell in Sandy Township. Sandy Township police investigated and subsequently arrested the operator for suspected DUI. During an interview with police, the operator admitted to being at Sheetz when the accident occurred. Charges are currently pending at this time.
• On Sunday, police received a report about a GPS unit that had been stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 500 block of East Sheridan Avenue. Police would like to remind motorists to lock their vehicles when leaving them unattended.
• On Sunday, police received a report about a damaged stop sign in the area of Susquehanna Street. Further, someone told police the operator of a vehicle struck the sign and left the scene. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
