HARRISBURG – Beginning at 10 a.m. today, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission will be lifting the 45 miles per hour speed limit restriction on the entire Turnpike including the Northeastern Extension. Motorists should still continue to drive with caution and keep alert for changing weather conditions.
Also, drivers should remember to remove all snow and ice from vehicles before hitting the highway and turn on the headlights anytime the windshield wipers are in use.
In case of an accident, breakdown or other emergency, motorists can utilize the yellow emergency call boxes on the shoulder or dial *11 or 1-800-332-3880 to receive aid. Be prepared to give your milepost location and direction of travel, plus move any vehicles out of the travel lanes if possible.
