The Clearfield Area United Way recently donated more than 200 children and teen books to the Osceola Mills Community Library. The book donation was a part of its “Reading Ripples Project.”
Nancy Pinto of the CAUW recently delivered the books to library volunteer Georgie Danko and her grandson, Evan Matia of Osceola Mills and to library chairperson, Cindy Britton.
“Kids who love reading live happily ever after, I believe,” explained Pinto, “and the United Way is so proud to have partnered with students/adults locally to collect and distribute more than 2,200 books.
“The project started a couple years ago while the CAUW believes early grade reading is very important. The effects will ripple throughout their lives, and if they pass on books to others, the effect will ripple out even farther.”
