CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Borough police investigated an accident during which a car ended up in the West Branch of the Susquehanna River on Friday near the J.G. Food Warehouse.
The operator of the car was backing out when he lost control in the parking lot. He subsequently struck a woman and knocked over a small child who was seated in a shopping cart.
The car continued to ramp a snow bank over the guiderails and ended up in the river. A bystander, police said, pulled the male from the car.
