State police at Clearfield
- Minor injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident Friday on the Morrisdale-Allport Highway in Morris Township. Samantha Marchetti of Smithmill was traveling southbound when she failed to negotiate a left-hand curve in the roadway. She drove her vehicle off the right berm, where it went airborne for a short distance and struck a road sign. After that, her vehicle traveled through a yard and struck a Christmas decoration and a tree. Marchetti fled the scene and was later interviewed at the Clearfield Hospital. She wasn’t wearing her seatbelt and sustained minor injuries. Her vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. Marchetti was cited for the accident.
State police at Philipsburg
- No injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident Thursday on the Port Matilda Highway in Rush Township. Judy L. Clarkson of Osceola Mills was stopped in the westbound lane for traffic. At the time, Kenneth Lender, also of Osceola Mills, failed to stop and rear-ended the Clarkson vehicle.
- A three-vehicle accident occurred Thursday on the Port Matilda Highway in Rush Township. Further, the operators of a Lexus GX470 and a Pontiac Vibe were stopped for traffic. At the time, the operator of a Chevrolet Impala failed to observe that traffic had stopped ahead and attempted to at the last minute. However, the operator was unable to do so and rear-ended the Pontiac Vibe, which was forced into the Lexus GX470. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
- An incident of theft occurred sometime Thursday or Friday, and the victim told state police that a large amount of money might have been taken from her purse while she was shopping. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
State police at Ridgway
- No injuries were reported after a vehicle caught fire Thursday on U.S. Route 219 in Horton Township. Michael Cappetta of Brockway was traveling northbound near the Brockport Post Office. His vehicle was observed with flames underneath the undercarriage.
- No injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident that occurred Thursday on U.S. Route 219 in Horton Township. Ronald Huey Jr. of Brockway was traveling northbound when a vehicle driven by David Robensteel, also of Brockway, pulled out from the Brockport Post Office into the path of his Peterbilt Roll Off. As a result, Huey rear-ended the vehicle driven by Robensteel.
Lawrence Township
- Police assisted a motorist who had vehicle problems just off McGeorge Road.
- Police will cite a Clearfield woman for an incident of retail theft that occurred at the Wal-Mart Supercenter.
- Police received a report about a disabled train on Race Street.
- Police received a report about a minor vehicle accident on South Second Street.
- Police received a report about a 9-1-1 hang-up call. Upon speaking with the resident, police found everything to be OK.
DuBois City
- A motion alarm sounded Thursday at a business in the 200 block of West Long Avenue. Upon arrival police searched the business and found it secured.
- An incident of theft from a motor vehicle occurred Thursday in the 300 block of West DuBois Avenue. The victim told police that she had multiple items stolen from her vehicle, while it was parked there. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- Police responded to a report for an unconscious/unresponsive male Thursday at the tennis courts on Parkway Drive. Upon arrival police determined the male and a female had taken illegal narcotics in a vehicle parked at the tennis courts. The male was taken to the DuBois Regional Medical Center – West. Charges are pending as a result of the incident.
- On Thursday, police responded to DRMC-West for an alleged assault victim who had arrived for treatment. Upon police arrival, the victim stated she was inside her Chestnut Avenue residence when she was attacked by two males who punched her in the face and choked her. She further stated that she was able to fight off the males and fled her residence. However, the female, according to police, changed her story multiple times. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
