William B. Henry, 91 of Hyde died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013 at the Clearfield Hospital. He was the husband of the late Drucilla (Caldwell) Henry, whom he married on March 4, 1944.
Born March 11, 1922, he was the son of the late Murray Uriah and Zella Mae (Green) Henry.
Mr. Henry was employed as a coal miner. He also was employed during World War II at the Navy Shipyard in Bremerton, WA and later with Gearhart Excavating until his retirement. He was a life member of the Hyde Fire Company.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Bowes and her husband, John of Hyde; three grandchildren, John A. Bowes Jr., David L. Bowes and Jennifer D. Bowes Yingling; eight great-grandchildren, Brandon, Delton, Brittany, John, Kaitlin, Kristin and Kacey Bowes and Danika Yingling; and one great-great-grandchild, Adalyn Bowes.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents; two sisters, Ethel P. Grove and Naomi L. Henry; and one brother, Sylvester C. Henry.
There will be no public viewing. Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., 312 E. Locust St., Clearfield, is assisting the family with their arrangements.
