Bernice L Bauman, 77, of Osceola Mills died Saturday Nov. 30, 2013 at her residence. Born March 13, 1936 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of Willard R. and Mae (Lockett) Yarger.
She was employed by the former Sylvania Plant of Houtzdale, Shortway Products of Clearfield, Olanta Cheese and Fink Services until her retirement.
She was a seventh degree member of the Sanborn Grange No. 2016, where she had been a member for 61 years.
In addition, she was a member the Sanborn Methodist Church, the Sanborn Church of God and the women’s missionary association. She served as a Pennsylvania Grange state delegate and was a past Girl Scout leader.
On July 12, 1957 in the Sanborn Evangelical United Brethren Church, she married Harvey Bauman, who preceded her in death on June 21, 1999.
She’s survived by a son, Robert N. Bauman and his companion, Penny Delucia of Clearfield and two daughters, Lynette Bauman of Osceola Mills and Lorraine Bauman of Houtzdale. Also surviving are a grandson, Matthew A Bauman and his companion, Kayla Hutton of Clearfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Birger A Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale, with the Rev. Matthew Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Zion Cemetery, Olanta.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
