Victor L. Kezel, 70, of DuBois died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center. Born April 23, 1943, he was the son of the late Leonard Vincent and Caroline P. (Hoynoski) Kezel.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Vietnam War Era. He retired from the Brockway Glass Company. Prior to that, he worked for Piper Aircraft.
He was baptized at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and was Catholic by faith. He was a member of the James J. Patterson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 813, the Polish Citizens Club and the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17.
Before his lengthy illness, he was an avid fisherman. He loved hunting and just being in the outdoors. He enjoyed college football particularly Penn State. He loved all animals especially his cat, Gillie, which he leaves to the care of his sister. He especially loved his deceased cat, Cole. He loved everyone he ever met and that love was returned.
He is survived by two sons, Kent Kezel of Florida and Kirk Kezel of Illinois and a sister, Lennie (Kezel) Evans of Granger of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his son, Keith Kezel.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A military ritual will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard at 12:45 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating.
Full military honors will be accorded from the funeral home by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery.
