CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.

Shaw identified the fugitive as Michael Jason Lamb, 38, of Old Route 322, Philipsburg. Lamb was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on Monday.

On Sept. 26, 2011, Trooper David Patrick of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield barracks, filed a criminal complaint against Lamb. He charged Lamb with criminal solicitation to commit burglary, criminal conspiracy to commit burglary, criminal conspiracy to commit criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on June 12, 2011, the Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to a Covington Township residence for the report of a burglary and theft. Upon investigation it was found that Lamb had driven two other individuals there and instructed them to enter the camp and remove several items.

The suspects then broke into the camp and unlawfully removed nine firearms, including six rifles, two shotguns and one handgun. The firearms were valued at approximately $1,950. The suspects also removed other items valued at approximately $600. Lamb and the two individuals then fled the scene in Lamb’s vehicle.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 26, 2011, at which time all charges were held for court. On Nov. 7, Lamb failed to appear for criminal call, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Shaw stated that on Wednesday, Lamb voluntarily surrendered himself to deputies from the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office.

Shaw thanked the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with this case.
