CLEARFIELD – A 46-year-old Morann woman accused of attempting to strike her boyfriend with a hammer waived her right to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Richard Ireland during Centralized Court on Wednesday at the Clearfield County Jail.
Lisa Irene Mick, 46, of Morann has been charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment. Her bail was modified to $10,000 unsecured at her preliminary hearing.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, at approximately 11 p.m. Nov. 4, state police were dispatched for a domestic dispute, which involved a hammer, at a Hannah Street residence in Woodward Township. Upon arrival to the scene, state police interviewed the victim who related he had been arguing with his girlfriend that evening over having friends over.
During the argument, the victim told state police that Mick grabbed a hammer. While yelling at him he said she threatened to kill him. At one point, when he turned around Mick was holding the hammer in the process of bringing it down toward his head.
The victim told state police he was able to block the hammer, which resulted in a physical struggle with Mick. After that he was able to get the hammer from Mick, took it outside with him and called state police.
In an interview, Mick told state police she and the victim had been arguing over people at their residence. During their argument, she went to the bathroom and the victim followed her; at this point, she grabbed the hammer and attempted to strike the victim with it.
State police neither observed injuries on the victim nor Mick. However, state police observed a yellow hammer lying in the parking area at the residence. The victim told state police it was the hammer that Mick used to attempt to strike him.
