Melissa A. Dixon, 52, of Shawville died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 at her home.
She was born Nov. 8, 1961 in Clearfield, the daughter of Lee B. and Althea (Bain) Shaw.
She was a registered nurse and worked for DuBois Regional Medical Center in the maternity ward for 23 years. She was a caregiver for five years.
She was a member of the Shawville United Methodist Church.
She’s survived by a son, Steven W. Dixon and his wife, Brandy of Scranton; a daughter, Sara M. Brown and her husband, Joshua of Indiana; a grandson, Logan Brown; three brothers, Jeffrey Shaw and his wife, Trudy of Clearfield; Steven Shaw and his wife, Beth of Lexington, KY; and Daniel Shaw of Indiana; a fiancé, Rodney McBride of Shawville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc. with Pastor Susan Arnold officiating. Burial will be in the Eden Cemetery.
Friends will be received 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Friday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the services Saturday at the funeral home.
