CLEARFIELD — On Nov. 1-3, six DECA members from the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center attended the Ultimate DECA Power Trip in Boston, Mass.
More than 1,200 high school student-members from 21 states, as well as Germany and Ontario, converged in Boston for a three-day conference filled with college and career readiness workshops, competitive events training, and engaging networking opportunities.
The CCCTC DECA members took full advantage of the endless opportunities the city of Boston had to offer, starting their “ultimate trip” by attending a special program about careers in sports marketing, led by Boston Celtics marketing executives and former Celtics standout Dana Barros. The program was followed by the Boston Celtics versus Milwaukee Bucks basketball game at TD Garden arena.
DECA students also attended workshops led by Boston-area business executives and entrepreneurs Included was Boston favorite Johnny Earle, founder of the T-shirt brand Johnny Cupcakes, who presented his dynamic story of entrepreneurship to DECA members.
“Our DECA members had an amazing opportunity to explore their college and career interests this past weekend in Boston,” said Lauren Hopkins, CCCTC DECA Advisor. “This was a trip they will never forget.”
