Beverly G. (Diehl) Rafferty, 81, of Tampa, Fla. and formerly from Clearfield, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 at Life Step Hospice Home, Temple Terrace, Fla.
She was born July 24, 1932 in Aultman, Indiana County, the daughter of Chester C. and Dorothea (Strong) Diehl.
Mrs. Rafferty was a graduate of Clearfield Area High School in the class of 1950 and formerly employed as the office manager at Liberty Iron and Metal in Erie before moving to Florida in 1975, where she was employed as office manager for A-1Fargo Mayflower in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
She retired in 1996 and was living in Tampa, Fla. She was Methodist by faith. She was a previous member of the Pennsylvania Business and Professional Women’s Club and a former member of the Musicale Club and the Women’s Club of Tampa, Fla.
She is survived by a son, Michael Andrew Rafferty and his wife, Debra of Clearwater, Fla.; a sister, Donna Jean (Diehl) Cowder and her husband, Homer of Philipsburg; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Rafferty was preceded in death by her father on Jan. 7, 1960; her mother on Nov. 23, 1965; and her husband, Joseph Rafferty, whom she married on June 5, 1953 in Erie and whom died in July of 1970.
Honoring Mrs. Rafferty’s wishes, there will no public visitation or service.
