Vida Ellen McGonigal, 94, of Karthaus died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at the Clearfield Hospital. She was born Jan. 8, 1919, the daughter of the late Howard and Amy Burfield Hahn.
Mrs. McGonigal was a homemaker. She was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Karthaus.
She was married to Ralph L. McGonigal Sr. He preceded her in death Aug. 31, 1990.
Mrs. McGonigal is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Butler of Karthaus and three sons, Ralph McGonigal Jr. and his wife, Linda, Dean McGonigal and his wife, Joyce and Edward McGonigal, all of Karthaus.
She’s also survived by one sister, Mary Lidgett of Philipsburg; one brother, Keith Hahn of Clearfield; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marion Maney; a son, Howard McGonigal; one sister, Alma Williams; and six brothers, Charles, Leon, William, John, James and Calvin.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel of the Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale, with the Rev. Richard Hertlein, lay minister, officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery, Karthaus.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
