Bernetta Ann “Birdie” Lauver, 82, of Clearfield died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
She was born March 11, 1931, the daughter of Harold and Agnes (Morrison) Shubert. She’d worked as a nurse’s aide and in the office of the medical records at the Clearfield Hospital until retiring after 35 years.
She was Methodist by faith. She enjoyed square dancing, motorcycling and taking care of her family.
She’s survived by her husband, Eddie I. Lauver, of Clearfield, whom she married Dec. 19, 1953; a son, Gary Lauver and his wife, Carol of Clearfield; one granddaughter, Crystal Provencher and her husband, Michael of Fort Hood, TX; one great-granddaughter, Madeleine Provencher; one sister and two brothers, Shirley Young and her husband, Zane, of Battleground, IN, Andy Shubert and his wife, Dottie of Rochester, NY and Glenn Shubert and his wife, Leah of New Palestine, IN; two sisters-in-law, Jean Graham and her husband, Harold of Woodland and Cheryl Leigey and her husband, Jeff of Allport; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jean Young.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, with the Rev. John F. White officiating. Burial will be at Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received from 9 a.m. until the hour of the services Thursday at the funeral home.
