Kathern E. Wisor, 74, of Clearfield died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield. She was born Feb. 26, 1939 in Philipsburg, the daughter of Frank F. and Pauline Viola (Daughenbaugh) Frantz.
She was a member of the Spring Valley United Methodist Church. She was employed as a certified nursing assistant for 36 years at Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center retiring in 2003.
She was a 1957 graduate of the Osceola Mills High School. She was a life-time member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Bigler-Jackson-Woodland Fire Company. She was also a member to the AFSCME Retiree’s Union No. 2665.
She is survived by four sons, Ronnie S. Wisor and his companion, Cammy Uncles of Hyde, Russell L. Wisor and his wife, Richele of West Decatur, Vincent A. Wisor and his significant other, Shirley Spaid of Bigler and Kevin C. Wisor and his wife, Kelly of Woodland.
Surviving are nine grandchildren, Miranda Coulter and her husband, Brad, Preston Wisor and his significant other, Trish Bensky, Melvin Wisor, Brittany Wisor and her significant other, Scott Brown, Michael Wisor, Gage Wisor, Matthew Wisor, Makenzi Hoyt and Harlee Fyock; four great-grandchildren, Josh and Braden Coulter and Avriel Martell and Isabella (Bella) Marie Kathern Brown; three sisters, Nancy Brown of Houtzdale, Loretta Gardner of Philipsburg and Melinda Fleck of Bald Eagle; and an aunt and uncle, Phyllis and Lynn Dixon of Osceola Mills.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin E. Wisor, whom she married on May 21, 1960 and whom died Aug. 24, 2012 after 52 years of marriage; a son, Melvin E. Wisor: two sisters, Suzette Frantz and Paulette Corrigan; one brother, Frank Frantz; a niece, Crystal Brown and a nephew.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Spring Valley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ronald Beistline officiating. Burial will be held in Woodside Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., 312 E. Locust St., Clearfield and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday at the church.
