DUBOIS – The public is welcome to come out cheer on their favorite team during the American Heroes Challenge, set for 12 p.m. Nov. 11.
The Penn State DuBois Veterans Club invites all campus students, faculty members and staff members to sign up for the competition. It will be held on the DEF Lawn, weather permitting. The event will be moved to the gymnasium in the case of inclement weather.
The challenge will pit teams of four against one another in military drill competitions. They will perform team building drill exercises, a weighted rucksack run, and one minute each of push-ups, pull-ups, and sit-ups. Entry fee for each team is a donation of a toy or cash for Toys for Tots. The top team will win a free lunch from the Veterans Club.
A lunch of MRE military rations will be provided for team members, as well as on a first-come, first-served basis for spectators, in order to provide a glimpse inside military life.
To register or for more information, please e-mail jss5394@psu.edu or kve5072@psu.edu. The registration deadline is Nov. 6.
