Bertha L. Lockey, 91, of Philipsburg died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013 at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg. Born Feb. 20, 1922 in Hawk Run, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Ruman Cebulko.
Mrs. Lockey was a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Hawk Run. She was a member of the Jednota Lodge.
She’d been employed at the General Cigar Factory, Philipsburg. She also loved working with her flowers.
She married Calvin Lockey on Oct. 16, 1941 at the Sts. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Hawk Run. He preceded her in death on April 24, 2001.
Mrs. Lockey is survived by a daughter, Barbara Mahute and her husband, Walter of State College; two sons, Robert Lockey and his wife, Barbara of Morrisdale and Kenneth Lockey of Clearfield; a sister, Irene Volk and her husband, Michael of Rootstown, Ohio; a brother, Fred Cebulko and his wife, Rose Marie of Canton, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Lockey; two sisters, Mary Lequar and Josephine Rusnak; three brothers, Peter, Michael and Edward Cebulko; and seven infant brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Sts. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Hawk Run, with the Father Robert J. Horgas as celebrant. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hawk Run.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale. The Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
