Clearfield — The Clearfield Area High School junior varsity football team trounced visiting Brockway 49-0 on Monday night at the Bison Sports Complex to complete their undefeated season at 8-0.
The Bison never gave up more than seven points in a game all year, posted four shutouts, and out-scored their opponents 195-25.
Corey Shimel was the offensive star, scoring three touchdowns while splitting time between quarterback and running back. He toted the ball across the goal line on runs of 23 and two yards. He also caught a nine yard pass for a score.
Bryce Craft blasted up the middle for a 31-yard score and Dagan Folmar caught a 36-yard touchdown pass from Cody Spaid. Dakota Shimmel also added a score on the ground.
Grant Climie intercepted a pass and “took it to the house” for a 52-yard defensive score.
Josh Sorbera kicked three extra points and scampered around the left end for a 2-point conversion after a muffed snap on an extra point.
Sorbera also recovered a fumble, as did Curtis Daub.
