REDBANK VALLEY’S DOUGHERTY, SHEFFIELD’S JACKSON NAMED EXPLORE YOUR TOWN D9SPORTS.COM CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK FOR WEEK EIGHT OF THE 2013 SEASON
14 Players; One team unit named to District 9 Honor Roll
CLARION – Redbank Valley’s Jake Dougherty and Sheffield’s Jereek Jackson are the Explore Your Town D9Sports.com District 9 Co-Football Players of the Week for Week Eight of the 2013 season.
Dougherty set a Redbank Valley single-game passing record with 336 yards through the air on 19-of-38 passing with three touchdowns passes while also intercepting three passes on defense in the Bulldogs 23-0 win at St. Marys Friday night.
Jackson led Sheffield to its first-ever AML North title and the school’s first division title of any kind since 1964 by running for 173 yards and three touchdowns in the Wolverines 29-26 come-from-behind win over visiting Smethport Saturday afternoon.
Joining Dougherty and Jackson in being honored this week are 14 players and one team’s defensive unit on the Explore Your Town D9Sports.com Honor Roll.
