Members of Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library’s fall story session participated in a special event that featured the Clearfield Volunteer Fire Department on Oct. 8.
Several representatives from the fire department and Leslie Stott, Clearfield Borough operations manager, visited the library as part of A Story of Colors preschool program and Fire Safety Week. More than 50 children attended the event, and many children wore red clothing in connection with the visit from the fire department.
Each child and accompanying family toured the fire engine, tried on the fireman’s equipment and learned important fire safety tips through stories and handouts. This program showcased the PA Forward Civic & Social Literacy.
