Marlene A. Miknis, 75, of DuBois died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 at her home. Born March 8, 1938 in Sykesville, she was the daughter of the late George and Susanne (Skibo) Kosko.
On June 20, 1964, she married David F. Miknis. He survives.
She retired from Christ the King Manor after many years of service. Prior to that, she worked at the Courier-Express and Gray Printing as a typesetter.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and the Grandparents Club at DuBois Central Catholic. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and garage sales. She also enjoyed watching baseball, especially watching her children and grandchildren play.
She’s survived by her children, Suzanne Bembenic and her husband, Doug, and Ron M. Miknis and his wife, Cheri and Daniel J. Miknis and his wife, Kim, all of DuBois and David E. Miknis of Brockway.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Kayla Haag, Adam and Lauren Strishock, Emily, Cori, Ben, Cassidy, Jacob and Justin Miknis); one great-grandchild, Kole Parker Haag; a sister, Mrs. Marie DePillo of DuBois; and a brother, George Kosko Jr. of Erie.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Marce Dobrosky and Margaret Kokoska and her brother, John Kosko.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Kresinski as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
