Marian Delane Shimmel, 84, of West Decatur died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 at the Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg.
Born April 18, 1929 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Dorcey G. and Eva Shimmel Mease. Mrs. Shimmel had worked for the former General Cigar in Philipsburg before retiring from Piper Aircraft in Quehanna.
She was married to Edmund J. “Skinner” Shimmel. He preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 1993.
Mrs. Shimmel is survived by one son, Glenn Carter Shimmel of West Decatur and one granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn Shimmel of West Decatur.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Eldon Roy Shimmel, one brother, Clair Mease; and two sisters, Iva Shimmel and Norma Knepp.
Funeral services will be private with the Pastor Matt Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Reidy Cemetery, Wallaceton.
There will not be any public visitation.
