REDBANK’S WATSON; KARNS CITY’S KEPPLE NAMED EXPLORE YOUR TOWN D9SPORTS.COM CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK FOR WEEK SIX OF THE 2013 SEASON
14 Players named to District 9 Honor Roll
CLARION – Redbank Valley’s Zane Watson and Karns City’s Tyler Kepple are the Explore Your Town D9Sports.com District 9 Co-Football Players of the Week for Week Six of the 2013 season.
Watson’s strong right-leg lifted Redbank Valley to a 29-26 win over Moniteau when he connected on a game-winning 39-yard field goal despite muddy field conditions and his own coach icing him with a timeout just before the kick. He was also 2-for-2 in extra point attempts during the game. He was also named Homecoming King at halftime of the game.
Kepple, meanwhile, put on a show at the quarterback position with District 9’s lone Hall of Famer – East Brady graduate Jim Kelly, the former Buffalo Bill quarterback – in attendance. Kepple threw four touchdown passes and ran for two more scores in Karns City’s 55-14 win over visiting Keystone. He was 6-for-10 passing for 113 yards and also ran four times for 87 yards.
Joining Watson and Kepple in being honored this week are 14 players on the Explore Your Town D9Sports.com Honor Roll.
