CLEARFIELD — The Clearfield VFW fall baseball team split a doubleheader with Bigler-West Branch at the Lawrence Township Recreation Park Field Saturday and lost a 10-inning game at Bellefonte Sunday.
Thomas Summers notched his sixth win of the season as Clearfield (11-3) shut out Bigler-West Branch 11-0 in their opener.
He was backed by pairs of hits from Josh Kennedy and Dan Collins. Summers, Kennedy and Nate Brady socked doubles.
Summers singled twice in the 12-6 nightcap loss.
At Bellefonte, the hosts tallied two runs in the ninth inning to overtake Clearfield 4-3.
Curtis Collins belted two doubles for Clearfield, which will travel to Altoona Sunday for a 1 p.m. twin bill.
