Clearfield — The Clearfield Area High School junior varsity football team picked up their second shutout in a row on Monday night, 19-0 over the visiting DuBois Beavers. The win, after a cancellation with Central Mountain last week, upped the Bison to 5-0 on the year.
The first half was scoreless as RJ Ward blocked a Beaver field goal attempt and Mason Royer had an interception to lead the Bison defensive charge.
The Bison took the lead in the third quarter after Casey Wilsoncroft intercepted a pass and returned it 27 yards to the Beaver five yard line. From there, running back Corey Shimmel sprinted in for what proved to be the winning touchdown. The PAT was unsuccessful and the Bison lead was 6-0.
Also in the third, Dustin Maines recovered a fumble to help keep the Beavers off the scoreboard, while  Dakota Shimmel sprinted around the end for a 19-yard touchdown and a 12-0 lead.
Dakota Shimmel added the final score in the fourth stanza with a 15-yrd scamper. Josh Sorebera tacked on the extra point to set the final at 19-0.
The Bison will travel next Monday to Tyrone for their next game.
