An incident of DUI occurred Sunday at the Get-Go parking lot in Fox Township. During the incident, a 25-year-old Force woman was stopped for a traffic violation and found to be under the influence of alcohol. She was taken to the Elk Regional Health Center for a blood test. Charges were filed through the district court.
Minor injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident Sunday on Old Kersey Road in Fox Township. Amanda R. McCurdy, 21, of St. Marys was traveling eastbound in the right-hand lane. She was negotiating a slight curve in the roadway when her tires broke traction and caused her vehicle to rotate clockwise. Her vehicle left its lane and traveled across the centerline and into the westbound lane. Then, it left the roadway and struck a large tree with its rear. McCurdy was cited for the accident. State police were assisted at the scene by the Jefferson County Volunteer Fire Department.Â
An incident of retail theft occurred Thursday at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Fox Township. During the incident, a 30-year-old Johnsonburg woman allegedly attempted to remove several items from the store without paying for some. The value of the items was $48.07. Charges were filed through the district court.
An incident of theft occurred sometime between Sept. 24 and Sept. 27 on Shawmut Road in Horton Township. During the incident, someone removed a Bose radio from the victim’s backyard gazebo. It’s valued at $800.
