On Friday police responded to the intersection of South Brady Street and West Washington Avenue for a report about an unsupervised small child. The child reportedly almost walked out into traffic. Upon arrival police searched the area but were unable to locate the child.
Police reported an incident of harassment Friday from a resident in the first block of East Long Avenue. The resident told police he was being harassed by someone about a dispute over his dog. Police advised both individuals to stop harassing each other, or they would be charged.
Police responded to a non-reportable accident Friday at the intersection of East DuBois Avenue and Division Street. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident. Police assisted the people involved with exchanging information.
Police responded to a disturbance Friday in the first block of South Main Street. Upon arrival police determined that it was a civil matter involving a property dispute between a landlord and tenant.
Police reported a single-vehicle accident Friday in the 100 block of North Main Street. The operator attempted to turn off of Quarry Avenue onto North Main Street at which point he jumped the curb and struck a dumpster and telephone pole. The operator wasn’t injured; his vehicle was towed from the scene.
Police reported a domestic disturbance Friday in the first block of East Washington Avenue. Upon arrival police determined it was only a verbal argument. There weren’t any signs of physical injuries, and the couple agreed to separate for the night.
On Friday police reported a woman called and alleged that someone was pointing a laser into several windows in her residence. Police questioned a neighbor who denied having any knowledge about the incident.
While on patrol Friday, police observed the operator of a vehicle committing several traffic violations. Police stopped the vehicle and its operator was arrested for suspected DUI. Charges will be filed.
While on patrol Sunday in the city park, police observed where someone had set fire to a plastic sign in the men’s restroom. After that, someone had written a female’s name on the wall with the black soot from the fire. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
On Sunday, police observed the operator of a gold-colored Chrysler traveling on South Brady Street. The operator committed several traffic violations and was cited for the same after being pulled over by police.
Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident Sunday in the 100 block of East Park Avenue. Upon arrival police found the operator of a Chevrolet Cavalier had failed to observe the vehicle stopped ahead of her and rear-ended it. The operator of the Toyota Camry told police she was stopped when her vehicle was rear-ended by the Cavalier. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident. The Cavalier was towed from the scene.
