John Lynn Russell, 80, of Grampian died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 2, 1933, a son of the late Joseph and Pearl (Dunsworth) Russell.
Mr. Russell was employed as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver for Simco Mining, McDonald Trucking and Harry Haley Trucking.
He’s survived by his wife, Pearl (Coder) Russell, of Grampian and whom he wed Feb. 4, 1957 in Winchester, VA.
Surviving are eight daughters, Linda Hile and her husband, Rick; Betty Roseberry and her husband, Allen; Jean Maines and her husband, Blaine and Joan Williams and her husband, John, all of Clearfield; Louise Jacox; Joyce Stubbs and her husband, Lou, both of Curwensville; Teri Fetterman and her husband, Rodney of Glen Campbell; and Laurie Kerin and her husband, Jim of Dubois.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Jennifer Sheridan and her husband, Daniel; Jamie Breeden and her husband, Joshua; Beth and John Williams; and Katie Maines, all of Clearfield; Melissa Sopic and her husband, Brad and Lou and Brad Stubbs, all of Curwensville; four great-grandchildren, Greyson Roseberry of Clearfield; Daniel Adams; Nikki Jacox; and Ella Sopic, all of Curwensville; a great-great-granddaughter, Sophia Adams of Clearfield; a sister, Dorothy Wall of Grampian; a brother, Donald Russell and his wife, Sharon of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosella Shimchock and Jean Mayes and two brothers, Droze and Doyle Russell.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville, with Pastor Wade R. Berkey officiating. Burial will follow in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Grampian.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
