BROCKWAY – Pennsylvania State Police officials have confirmed a trooper from DuBois was shot and wounded while serving a warrant Thursday afternoon on Cemetery Hill Road just outside of Brockway in Jefferson County.
Further, a state police spokesperson from Harrisburg has confirmed the state trooper was shot during an “ongoing situation.” The trooper was flown to the UPMC Altoona Hospital, where he was reportedly awake and conscious, state police officials said.
State police officials have also confirmed troopers went to the residence on Cemetery Hill Road to serve a warrant. While serving the warrant, one trooper was shot. The trooper’s name is not being released at this time.
The shooter’s residence has been surrounded by law enforcement officers who are expected to remain at the scene overnight and into the morning, state police officials said. Jefferson County emergency management officials have confirmed Brockway area schools were locked down as a result of the situation. Brockway school officials said schools remained on lockdown until an all clear was given by state police.
