Minor injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident that occurred Monday on Hoovertown Road in Huston Township. Stephen M. Czekai, 46, of Penfield was traveling westbound on Mount Pleasant Road and stopped at its intersection with Hoovertown Road. Patrick E. Sherry, 46, of Brockway was traveling northbound on Hoovertown Road. Czekai failed to observe the Sherry vehicle and pulled onto Hoovertown Road directly into his path. At that point, Sherry applied his brakes and steered to the right in an attempt to avoid the Czekai vehicle. However, Sherry struck the Czekai vehicle, which spun 180 degrees counterclockwise and struck the guiderails on the west berm of Hoovertown Road. The Czekai vehicle traveled back across the northbound lane and came to a rest, facing east against the guiderails. On the east berm of Hoovertown Road, Sherry brought his vehicle to a controlled stop just north of the intersection with Mount Pleasant Road. Czekai sustained minor injuries in the accident. Both Czekai and Sherry were wearing their seatbelts; Czekai was cited for the accident. State police were assisted at the scene by the Bennetts Valley Ambulance, the Penfield Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department and towing services.
