An accident occurred Thursday on state Route 504 near Hannah Furnace Road in Rush Township. Further, a 38-year-old Philipsburg man was traveling west when he lost control of his motorcycle and slid a short distance on its side. He came to a rest underneath the motorcycle in the middle of the roadway. Through investigation state police determined the man was under the influence of a controlled substance. He also sustained moderate injuries and was taken to the Mount Nittany Medical Center. He wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Charges are currently pending against the man for DUI and several traffic violations.
An incident of burglary occurred sometime Sunday or Monday on Hillcrest Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone entered the victim’s residence and then fled in an unknown direction. The investigation is continuing at this time.

During the incident, someone broke into the victim’s residence and removed numerous grocery items from the refrigerator. They also took music CDs. The investigation is continuing at this time.
