WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – The investigation is continuing into a fatal accident that occurred Tuesday on Interstate 80 westbound at mile-marker 90.2 in Washington Township, reported the state police at DuBois.
Marshall W. Sterba, 44, of Ashtabula, Ohio was killed in the accident. James M. Gilchrist, 35, of Meadville sustained moderate injuries. Both Sterba and Gilchrist were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Gilchrist was stopped in his truck tractor due to the traffic ahead of him. However, Sterba, who also operated a truck tractor, failed to stop prior to striking the rear of that driven by Gilchrist, state police said.
