Charles E. Perks Sr., 67, of Philipsburg died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 at UPMC Altoona. Born Sept. 22, 1945, he was a son of the late Enoch and Mary Jane (Fullington) Perks.
He is survived by two sons, Charles E. Perks Jr. and his wife, Amy and Larry M. Perks and his wife, Jennifer, both of Sharon; a sister, Sandra Thomas of Frewsburg, NY; five grandchildren Brandon, Logan, Laryssa, Michaela and Lucas; numerous nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Patricia (Williams) Perks of Osceola Mills.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Larry Perks, Melvin Perks, Russell Perks and Paul Corsetti.
Mr. Perks was a truck driver at Butler Trucking until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a member of the Philipsburg B.P.O. Elk Lodge No. 1173, where he was a past Exalted Ruler; the Philipsburg AmVets Post No. 159; and the Philipsburg VFW Louis P. Jenkins Post No. 3450.
At Mr. Perks’ request, there will be no visitation or service. Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery.
