CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Hospital Hospice will hold its annual Chili Bowl, scheduled from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday at the Clearfield Driving Park’s Expo II Building. “Red Carpet” is the theme for the 16th annual Chili Bowl.
All proceeds benefit the hospice program by covering expenses that are not covered by insurance. Monies are used to help alleviate burdens from hospice patients and families in need who are facing end-of-life issues.
In addition to the chili competition, themed-baskets are raffled off during the night. These baskets, containing a variety of items ranging from gift certificates, clothing, household wares, etc., are donated by individuals, businesses and Clearfield Hospital departments.
Other activities will include music by The Moore Brothers. Children’s activities provided by Children’s Aid Society and Clearfield Business and Professional Women’s Club will include duck pond, monkey ring toss, baseball toss, crafting area, car races and an infant/toddler break room.
Volunteers will be selling 50/50 chances and other raffle tickets as well as Chili Bowl T-shirts and cookbooks.
While chili tasting is the main feature, other food items will be sold, including hot dogs, chips and drinks. Dave and Amy Duke of Clearfield will have their ice cream truck at the event. Proceeds from food and ice cream sales benefit hospice.
