Viola Uncles, 86, of Clearfield died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 at Dubois Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Walter Uncles.
Born Sept. 9, 1926 in Grampian, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Zella (Bloom) Charles.
Mrs. Uncles attended schools in Grampian and Curwensville. Her first employment was in the late 1940’s by Dumont Airplane and Marine Industries in Hyde. From 1959-1964, she was self-employed in child care provision services.
She was a member of Centre Grove United Methodist Church for more than 68 years. She was a choir member, Sunday school teacher and the secretary for the church for 30 years.
Surviving are a son and a daughter, Dale Charles Uncles and Debra Fern Uncles, both of Clearfield; one granddaughter, Stacy Uncles of Clearfield; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; four brothers, Joseph, Warren, Clifton and Frank Charles; and one sister, Mary Alice Clark.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Viola Uncles will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., 312 E. Locust St.., Clearfield, PA 16830 with the Rev. Randy Willis officiating.
A time to share memories with the family will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
