Mary (Kutzer) Satur, 94, passed away peacefully Tuesday Sept. 3, 2013. Born Feb. 8, 1919 in the town of “28,” she was the daughter of the late Steve and Anna (Drop) Kutzer.
She had been a life-long parishioner of the St. Mary’s Annunciation Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ramey.
She wed Nicholas Satur on Nov. 4, 1945 in Harrisburg after his return from World War II. Together, they owned and operated Satur Dairy Farm in Beccaria for 34 years until his passing Feb. 9, 1980.
Mrs. Satur is survived by four daughters and two sons, Nancy (Michael) of San Diego, Calif.; Paulette (Eberhard) and Glenn (Michelle), both of Long Island, NY; Gloria (Mark) of Seattle, WA; Russell of Beccaria and Marian (Stephen) of West Decatur.
She leaves 11 grandchildren, who will miss their “Baba” greatly, David, Glenn, Stephen, Sarafina, Timothy, Tyler, Jillian, Rebecca, Nicholas, Kate and Micah.
She’s also survived by four sisters and a brother, Ann Karlinchak of McKeesport; Marge Holowecky of Dearborn Heights, MI; Sue Bartosh of Big Rapids, MI; Verna Swider of Little Falls, NJ; and John Kutzer (Barbara) of Brentwood, Calif.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Kost and three brothers, Mike, Frank, and George Kutzer.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Kruise Funeral Home in Ramey. Parastas will be sung at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home by Fr. Anthony Balistreri.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ramey. Graveside services will follow in St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery in Ramey.
