John D. Kukla, 77, of Curwensville died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Kukla was born May 12, 1936 in Woodland, the son of Marion E. and Ann S. (Stevens) Kukla.
He had retired after 55 years from the Local Union 66 Operating Engineers.
Mr. Kukla was Methodist by faith.
He was a member of the Clearfield F.O.E. Aerie 812 and the NRA.
Mr. Kukla is survived by his wife, Beatrice (Welch) Kukla, whom he married on Nov. 13, 1962, and five children, Bonnie Emigh and her husband, Wayne of Woodland, Valerie D. Holthouse and her husband, Mark of Clymer, NY., Cherie Kukla Bloom of Curwensville, Heather Kukla Alvarez and her husband, Arthur of Richland, MO and Helen A. Miller and her husband, Arthur of Corry.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Kirk Bloom, Jennifer Kukla Bloom, Cole Holthouse,
Elizabeth Kukla Bloom, Monica Emigh, Cody Holthouse, Nathan Miller and Amilia Miller and a great-grandson, Ryder Bloom.
He was the last member of his generation. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patricia McDowell; and two grandchildren; Daniel Emigh and Baby Alvarez.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield with the Rev. John White officiating. Burial will be in Bradford Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. until the hour of services Saturday at the funeral home.
