Pauline A. Cerchiaro, 91, of Clearfield died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness.
She was born Feb. 8, 1922 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Anthony and Agnes (Santora) Martin.
Mrs. Cerchiaro graduated from St. Francis High School, Clearfield in 1941 and later was employed as an executive secretary at the Harrisburg State Capitol.
She was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, and the Rosary and Altar Society. She was a charter member of the Ladies Italian American Club in Rahway, NJ and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Clearfield Hospital Auxiliary and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Clearfield.
She is survived by her brother, Frank V. Martin of Manahawken, NJ and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo F. Cerchiaro, on July 26, 1999 and whom she wed Feb. 19, 1944 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Philmenia Chillemi.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield.
