Jerry James Barrett, 71, of Curwensville, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2013 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 26, 1942 in Bells Landing, Greenwood Township, he was the son of Albert and Mabel (Dickey) Barrett. Mr. Barrett had been a truck driver and worked for Butler Trucking in Woodland.
He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Teamsters, the Curwensville American Legion, the Curwensville L.O.O.M., Curwensville VFW and the Curwensville Rescue Hose and Ladder Co.
Surviving are his son, Jody J. Barrett and his wife, Kristine of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, Jerry Barrett and Taylor Fida; two step-grandchildren, Ben and Daniel Simcox; a brother, Donald Barrett and his wife, Hannah of Stronach; a son-in-law, Jack Fida of Curwensville; his former wife, Carol Ann (Norris) Maney of Treasure Lake; and a sister-in-law, Sandy Barrett.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jerrie Ann Fida; a brother, Cloyde Barrett; and an infant brother, John Barrett.
Services for Mr. Barrett will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville, with the Rev. M. Bruce Dimmick officiating.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday, and from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
