Dorothy Thompson, 73, of Houtzdale died Monday, Aug. 5, 2013 at her residence.
Born Jan. 6, 1940 in Philipsburg, she was a daughter of John and Kathryn (Polinsky) Miscavish.
She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale, and the Houtzdale Fire Co. No. 1.
She was employed as a payroll clerk for Navasky’s Clothing Factory, Philipsburg, until her retirement.
On Aug. 10, 1984 in Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale, she married Jerome Thompson, who preceded her in death April 10, 2013.
She’s survived by a son Scott Miscavish and his wife, Stephanie and a granddaughter, Madisyn Miscavish of Houtzdale.
Also surviving are two sisters, Catherine Jordan of Ramey and Margaret Miscavish of Houtzdale; two brothers, Joseph Miscavish of Houtzdale and Raymond Miscavish of East Lake, OH; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, four sisters, Betty Miscavish, Gertrude Albert, Martha Miscavish and Mary Ann Biancuzzo and five brothers, Frank, Lawrence, John, Chester and Thomas Miscavish.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale, with Father Joseph Staszewski as celebrant.
Burial will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery, Houtzdale.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday at the Birger A Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale.
Christ the King Altar and Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 3:30 p.m. and the Houtzdale Fire Co. will hold a memorial service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
