Helen Yvonne Fetcenko, 78, of Philipsburg died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late George Sr. and Susanna (Pirow) Sabol, born July 2, 1935.
She married Mitchell Fetcenko on Nov. 10, 1956 at the Nativity of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Chester Hill. He preceded her in death on July 8, 2007.
Mrs. Fetcenko was a member of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Chester Hill and a member of St. Ann’s Guild. She was a mother, grandmother and homemaker.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jacob Sabol; two sisters-in-law, Caroline Sabol and Dorothy Fetcenko; and five brothers-in-law, Alvin Lingenfelter, Tom and George Fetcenko, George Swansegar and Andrew Verost.
Mrs. Fetcenko is survived by two daughters, Karen Hughes and her husband, Gregory and Nancy Fetcenko, both of Philipsburg; two sisters, Jean Lingenfelter of Munson and Nancy Smeal and her husband, Melvin of Morrisdale; and two brothers, William Sabol and George Sabol Jr. and his wife, Betty, both of Morrisdale.
She is also survived by two granddaughters, Heather Burnisky and her husband, Dustin of Milton and Kyra Butler and her husband, Lucas of Lewistown; a great-granddaughter, Clair Burnisky of Milton; and a sister-in-law, Mary Sabol of Allport.
A prayer service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Nativity of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Chester Hill. The Very Rev. John C. Horosky will officiate. Burial will be at the Nativity of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Cemetery in Chester Hill.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., in Philipsburg. Parastas will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
