Alex Lawriski, 88, of Hollidaysburg and formerly of Osceola Mills and Philipsburg, died Monday, July 29, 2013 at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home in Hollidaysburg.
He was the son of the late Mike and Mary (Kutya) Lawriski, born May 30, 1925 in Osceola Mills.
Mr. Lawriski was of the Ukrainian Catholic faith. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a life-member of VFW Post 5020 in Osceola Mills and a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a retired sheet metal worker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.
Mr. Lawriski is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, with the Rev. Father Joseph Staszewski officiating. Burial will be at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills.
Military honors will be accorded at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
