Police were dispatched to an incident of criminal mischief to a vehicle in the 100 block of West Scribner Avenue. Upon arrival the victim told police that sometime Tuesday or Wednesday, someone broke out the back window of their vehicle. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
On Wednesday police were dispatched to an alleged victim who possibly had jewelry stolen from a business on East Long Avenue. They had retrieved some jewelry items from a safe deposit box but left some items on the table at the business. When she returned to get them, they were gone. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
On Thursday police were dispatched to a business in the 100 block of North Brady Street for an incident of retail theft. An unknown male attempted to steal Slim Jims and Mentos mixed fruit candy. When confronted by employees he left the store. After completing the investigation, charges will be filed against the male.
On Thursday police were dispatched for a dirt bike that had been stolen from a residence in the 100 block of South Highland Street. The victim told police that someone went into his garage and stole his yellow and blue 2005 Husqvarna TC250 dirt bike. The investigation is continuing and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact DuBois City police.
