A Hand Street resident reported Monday that someone took a wood stove that was sitting in his front yard. When he contacted a local scrap dealer, he found out who took the stove. The situation was resolved without incident.
On Monday police investigated a 911 hang-up call at a South Highland Street residence. The call was accidental.
A 43-year-old Overdorf Avenue woman reported Monday that a red truck struck her car that was parked at her home. The truck was still there; however, the driver was not. It was determined the truck belonged to a neighbor and had apparently slipped out of gear and drifted into the woman’s car. Moderate damage and no injuries were reported.
On Tuesday a vehicle driven by a 61-year-old Sykesville woman was stopped waiting to turn when a vehicle driven by a 67-year-old Punxsutawney woman rear-ended her. Moderate damage and no injuries were reported.
Police were called to the Wal-Mart parking lot for a fight in progress on Tuesday. The suspects were gone upon police arrival; however, officers were able to watch the security video of two Caucasian males who assaulted an African-American male and then put him in the back of a vehicle and drive away. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
A 47-year-old Treasure Lake man reported Tuesday that while his vehicle was parked at the Lake View Lodge, someone struck and damaged it, and then left the scene. The investigation is continuing.
On Tuesday police were called to an Ollie Lane residence for a report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival police were told by a 29-year-old woman that her 27-year-old brother came to the residence to assault her boyfriend. Her brother left prior to police arrival. Police were called back later when the man returned with three other males who were attempting to start a fight. The four left prior to police arrival.
