Louise Bloom, 76, of Curwensville died Monday, July 8, 2013 at DuBois Regional Medical Center, DuBois.
Born Jan. 19, 1937 in New Millport, she was the daughter of Russell Rea and Mamie (Bloom) Bloom. Miss Bloom was a music teacher and taught in the Punxsutawney Area School District, retiring after 35 years of service. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
She was a member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church and was affiliated with the Oak Ridge Union Church in Carnwath.
Surviving are a sister-in-law, Margaret Bloom of West Middlesex and five nieces and nephews, Jennie Walsh of Curwensville, Sandra Tonkin of Ohio, James Bloom and Karen Chelfont, both of West Middlesex and Dean Bloom of Michigan, as well as several cousins.
She will be greatly missed by friends and family, especially caregivers, Charlotte Clark, Norma Desmitt, Erla Shiffer and Ernie Rowles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a twin sister, Louine B. Bloom and a brother, Miles Bloom.
Funeral services for Miss Bloom will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville, with the Revs. Gerald Spaid and M. Bruce Dimmick co-officiating.
Burial will be in the Fruit Hill Cemetery, New Millport.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and again from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
